Tonight the big brother broadcasting network of ABC will be televising the last installment of Amerikan style Soviet Socialist Realism interrupted only by a speech from fearless leader himself which has been promised to bring Amerikans together by the self proclaimed “unificator”.

I’ve much better things to do than watch a pathological liar perform before the cameras but I have a strong suspicion that he will continue to perpetuate the biggest lie of all - that on 9/11 we were drawn into a war not of our making or a variation thereof.

This disingenuous deceit will then be given credence by what remains of ABC’s docudistortion of history and its timely subliminal pre election message that democrats let this happen with video provided by al-Qaeda videos in an effort to secure the support of the governed for a political ideology which promotes death and destruction.

The philosopher George Santayana claimed that “those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it”. The following are but a small number of important historical facts, uncomfortable truths that litter the path to 9/11 which ABC chose to ignore in favor of creating the comfortable lie that dooms us to experience more acts of terrorism from abroad and from the terrorists in power here at home.

1. The U.S. foreign policy of the 50s and 60s in Iraq and Iran prior to the Carter Administration which replaced democratically leaders with thugs and brutal dictators like the Shah of Iran and Saddam Hussein.

2. Jimmy Carter’s Administration funneling arms and other support to the Mujahedeen, Afghanistan’s “freedom fighters” against the Soviet Union.

3. Ronald Reagan’s belief that the Soviet Union was the “evil empire” was enough to put bin-laden on the CIA payroll.

4. Continued U.S. foreign policy of unilateral military weapons support for Israel while it occupied Palestine and invaded Lebanon in the early 80s.

5. George H W Bush’s war against Iraq and Bill Clinton’s continuation of that war throughout the 90s which resulted the stationing of U.S. troops on Muslim holy lands and the deaths of 500,000 Iraqi’s mostly women and children between 1991 and 2000.

6. Some reminder about the Bush family oil background, Cheney’s involvement in Halliburton which provided services for the oil industry, and Condi Rice’s stint as a manager for Chevron from 91 to 2000.

7. the September 2000 publication of “Rebuilding American’s Defenses by the neoconservative think tank called the Project for the New American Century which included Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle, Lewis Libby, John Bolton, et al.

This was the blue print of our current predatory foreign policy which called for the overthrow of Saddam Hussein years before 9/11 and a permanent military presence in the middle-east among other designs of empire that acknowledged on page 52 of their version of Mein Kampf that in order to have their world empire they needed a “catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbor”.

8. Bill Clinton telling George W Bush in January 2001 about the threat al-Qaeda presented during the change of administrations which Bush ignored because he thought Iraq was a greater threat to the U.S.

9. The influence of U.S. oil companies and the role of Saudi Arabia on the government of George W Bush to block U.S. secret service investigations on terrorism while it bargained with the Taliban to obtain access to the oil and gas reserves in Central Asia including the words of one U.S. representative who told the Taliban “either you accept our offer of a carpet of gold, or we bury you under a carpet of bombs” in February of 2001.

10. the Presidential Daily Briefing of August 6, 2001 which he received while on a month long vacation after only 7 months on the job stating that bin-laden was planning an attack against the U.S. which the administration passed off as an “analytic report” and not a “warning briefing” because it didn’t specify the time, place, or method mentioned – such preposterous nonsense as if terrorists would reveal their plans in minute detail. A month earlier there were warnings that Islamic terrorists might try to kill George Bush and other leaders by crashing an airliner into the Genoa summit of industrialized nations.

POST SCRIPT

On 9/11 George Bush was reading “the pet goat” at a grade school in Florida before getting on Air Force One and one journalist who said Bush was “flying around the country like a scared child, seeking refuge in his mother’s bed after having a nightmare” found out how much things changed when he was fired from his job for such observations.

On 9/12 after mounting criticism of the president’s obvious lack of courage the White House claimed that based on “real and credible information” Air Force One was a target
And a day later 9/13 Karl Rove confirmed that there was an “inside” threat that “may have broken the secret codes but by 9/27/01 the press found out the entire story was made up.
Meanwhile the country rallied behind the coward from Crawford with contempt for democracy.

It was reported that Osama Bin Laden stated the reasons behind his attack were because this country stationed troops on Muslim holy land when waging the first war in Iraq, injustices being committed by Israel and the U.S. against the Lebanese and Palestinian people, and because 500,000 Iraqis mostly women and children died since we first invaded Iraq.

To date there are at least 100,000 Iraqis once again mostly women and children that have since our latest invasion and the U.S. once again provided Israel with modern weaponry when it invaded Lebanon.

A 9/11 Commission was eventually created over the strenuous objections of the Bush Administration which under funded in return. In their defense both George Bush and Dick Cheney testified before the Commission – together and neither one under oath.

To date Osama Bin Ladens whereabouts are unknown although his video tapes seem to appear at the most opportune times for the party in power but what is known is that when violence is used in response to violence another 9/11 will occur – eventually.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Assigning blame for 9/11 to one administration reflects an ignorance of a history which will be repeated. 9/11 was the result of the cumulative affect of decades of U.S. foreign policy conducted by both political parties of an empire following the path to another 9/11.

In the final analysis the ideology of U.S. foreign policy needs the ideology of al-Qaeda in order to exist and the ideology of al-Qaeda owes its existence to the ideology of the U.S. The killing and carnage, the death and destruction, and the war crimes will continue to be committed as long as we are willingly, unwilling, or unwittingly aware of that truth which shall set us free. Part of that truth is that the recently concluded ABC docudrama “the path to 9/11” perpetuated the lie that demands to be exposed.
