Lie #936

Who would have ever thought that the Bush Administration would have made 935 false statements hyping the threat posed by Saddam Hussein to galvanize public opinion and manufacture consent for its premeditated invasion of Iraq that was a part of the neocon predatory foreign policy designed well before 9/11.

The report was prepared by the non-partisan Center for Public Integrity and concluded that the man selected by the Supreme Court to be the President of the free world and members of his administration knew that what they were saying was not supported by the facts thus removing “faulty intelligence” from the shrinking list the reasons why we got it so wrong about Iraq.

False statements? Indeed this pathetic press can’t show us pictures of our dead soldiers and now can’t even bring themselves to call these 935 false statements by what they are in fact and what they are in fact are deliberate lies which resulted in all that death and destruction in Iraq which has occurred in the last 5 years, is occurring in this moment I write and it will be occurring in decades to come.

Whether prancing around the U.S.S. Lincoln claiming Mission Accomplished, preening for the cameras during his staged state of the union speeches, or outright lying to the world community at the United Nations this pathological lying punk pretending to be the “bring ‘em on” commander-in-chief repeated the lie often enough so that it became the truth at least the truth for those who would be asked to make the supreme sacrifice for god and country and the gossip mongers pretending to be reporters participated in the shameless deceit.

The White House response presented by Dana Perino was given with the same conceit, contempt and arrogant disdain for those who dared doubt the veracity of those in power by claiming that the study wasn’t even worth spending time on and in doing so resorting to the newest/latest false statement Orwellian for lie #936 that there was a world consensus that Iraq possessed WMD.

The press had the opportunity to exercise its freedom of the press and question Ms. Perino’s unsubstantiated disingenuous assertion by asking her to cite some of the falsehoods spoken by any other named or anonymous foreign leaders which are independent of the 935 falsehoods attributed to the fabrication factory of her White House where pathological lying is pervasive, indeed systemic.

Rather than challenging her self serving spin our spineless press preferred to participate in revising history by repeating the lie that the whole world believed Hussein had WMD when the reality was that the whole world didn’t believe the United States and those few who did for whatever reason or excuse certainly don’t believe the United States now that those 935 lies have exposed our premeditated crime against peace when we invaded Iraq.

One perception of reality is that this White House won’t be spending any time focusing on reports based on factual data which dispute their version of reality. So consumed is this criminal enterprise with creating their own reality and imposing it on the rest of the country and the world that they will do whatever is necessary to insure that no one else does either for fear they might be found out for what they are, held responsible and held accountable for their 935 “false statements”.

Those 935 “false statements” contained in the report that the Bush Administration doesn’t want anyone to spend any time on are the 935 “false statements” that resulted in but are not limited to 3931 Americans dead and counting, 135 American service members suicides, and 28,700 wounded Americans and counting who believed the 935 lies that resulted in 300 – 600 thousand dead Iraqis many of whom are women and children, the hundreds of thousands wounded and the numberless number on both sides whose lives will never be the same again.

The last thing the Administration of False Statements wants or needs is for the survivors of those who made the supreme sacrifice to find out that a father, a mother, a brother, a sister, a husband, a wife, a child, a friend died for not only one lie but 935 of them. They’ll be the ones who know what George Bush couldn’t remember “fool me once, shame on you – fool me twice, shame on me” but fooling good Germans 935 times is how crimes against humanity get committed while consciences are quieted and comforted by lie #936 that the rest of the world believed the 935 false statements made to justify a preemptive strike against a sovereign nation that posed no threat to world peace.

The recent Republican debate in Florida was a reflection of just how out of touch that party is with reality when the only candidate who consistently voted against the war is marginalized by the mainstream corporate media and characterized as a fringe candidate while the rest continue to repeat a variation of the previous 935 false statements and create new false statements like “the surge is working” to be repeated ad nauseam to a nation of sheep too conditioned to accept the comfortable lie and too afraid of the uncomfortable truth.
